Skills Clinic

As part of this tournament, we will be hosting a skills clinic for college players after the trade show on Saturday.  We are very excited to be bringing this developmental opportunity to teams, and we look forward to a fun time of learning and community building.

Registration for the clinic will open in late August.

The Real Deal Dump Cut (Any skill level)
The dump reset is one of the most important parts of the college game. As a handler, do you ever find your dump cuts ending only 5 feet away from the player with the disc? If you want to learn how to get open on the dump quickly and efficiently, this is the place for you.

Cutting to Create Separation (Advanced)
Cutting is not as easy as it looks.  There are certain techniques you can implement to make it a whole lot easier on your thrower.  Commonly, many younger players make the mistake of thinking that just being fast makes you an excellent cutter.  It certainly helps, but footwork and set up fundamentals can go a long way towards making you uncoverable.

Marking (Any skill level)
Marking isn’t a time to rest. Your entire team is counting on you to take away a huge piece of the field. This is no simple task. In the clinic we’re going to talk about key components of marking (i.e., stability, moving your feet, preventing the inside and around breaks, keeping your shoulders forward, where to look, how to line up, and being a big mark even if you’re little). We’ll start with the basics but we’ll be adding in more advanced tips throughout.
